So it finally happened... a friend has got me back into the hobby of Warhammer 40,000.
Whilst this game has always been one of my main hobbies since I grew up, got a girlfriend and moved out with her, my miniatures have taken a backseat in the list of priorities. However with Christmas out the way, Jonny asked me to start a new challenge.
200 points a month for a year of an army we have never done before. Now at first I must admit I did turn this down but being more settled in everything now I decided it was time to pick up the paintbrushes again and crack on. When I said OK to this 3 armies had already been taken. We have Orks being done by Ian, Imperial Guard by Dan and the brand new Space Marines being done by Jonny.
The new 'nids codex did tempt me but the though of painting lots of little spiky aliens did not. I have settled with the dying race. Eldar. After having not played for so long I was slightly concerned that when we got round to playing games my army would be blown away as I have yet to play any real games with the new rules. So I turned to the internet. After countless videos and articles online I feel I have armed myself with enough knowledge about the new book to have a serious fighting chance.
I wanted to do this blog because this is going to give me some incentive to keep things going, and who knows if people that don't play the hobby see it maybe they can see how easy it is to start an army. All you really need is a pushy friend :)
